Happy Chinese New Year

Today Alexandra shared some facts about Chinese New Year.  One of the traditions is to not wash or shower today or clean floors as you need to focus on family, joy and the New Year. Vanessa told us about the Chinese New Year party she went to last night in a restaurant.

We Went On An Adventure

It was the senior swimming sports day today at the University Pools,  just behind KTS.  We went on a little adventure and watched a couple of the final races.

It was exciting to see Olivia win the finals!!!!! Mrs Brown’s little sporty fish daughter.

Welcome Miss Lee

Lucky Room 5 has Miss Lee in our classroom for the next 5 school days.  Miss Lee is studying to be a teacher in Korea and is observing life in a New Zealand classroom as part of her studies.  Welcome Miss Lee!

Happy Valentines Day

We did lots of love projects today making cards, love vouchers and heart art to celebrate our loved ones for Valentines Day.  I am not sure how but we also managed to fit in sport, reading and we met 3 new Room 5 children who came for a classroom visit.  We are looking forward to Phoebe, Helena and Eloise starting with us later this term.   They will be visiting again next Wednesday.

Happy Valentines Day!!

Words Starting with A

We are lucky enough to have learning support /’teacher aids’/teacher helpers/teacher heros come into our classrooms to help support the children .  Today Linda worked with a phonics group who were brainstorming lots of words starting with the letter A, (which is our letter of the week).  The group wrote up their findings together, (learning a lot about working together) and shared back to the class, (practising some great presentation and oral skills).
