Miss K will be coming every Tuesday to teach us Te Reo. So exciting!

Kohia Terrace School. Year 1. The life of 5 year olds. We want to invite parents and family into our classroom. Come and watch our adventures and learn about what we are learning. So when the children come home and you ask, "What did you do today?", the children will never be able to say, "nothing" ever again…our days are busy and learning constant. We love sharing our special first year of school life with you.

Numbers, number, numbers. We love maths!

Our brains are going ‘sizzle sizzle pop’ today as our brains are doing so much learning! Mrs Brown could hear them going ‘sizzle sizzle pop’.

Wow everyone has come back from their holiday and turned into writing super stars!!!!! So exciting to see the progress of the children already.

Sebastian did such amazing writing today! Sebastian did such amazing reading today!!! WOW. Mrs Brown is so happy! You must have had a super holiday as you have come back so ready to learn. So proud of you Sebastian.

The reading groups have changed a little for some of the children. We have had a big talk about this. “The only person we need to worry about is ourself”. The children have all started school at different times and we are all different so we are all in different groups. I also explained that I read different books to Mrs Turner. Mums can read different books compared with Daddys and Alison may read different books compared to Mr Heap. We are all different and that is so cool!

We are making sure Vincent, Gabriel and Jake have a happy first day of school today. Welcome boys!

Welcome back to everyone else!! We got straight into our writing this morning after all our holiday sharing. So lovely to see all the little faces back.
Finn was like a pirate and sailed with his Poppa Mack around islands including Waiheke.
Then Finn explored Wellington with Mum. Thanks for sharing Finn.
