What beautiful writing. Isn’t it amazing! Clever clever year 1 authors made this story together.
Kohia Terrace School. Year 1. The life of 5 year olds. We want to invite parents and family into our classroom. Come and watch our adventures and learn about what we are learning. So when the children come home and you ask, "What did you do today?", the children will never be able to say, "nothing" ever again…our days are busy and learning constant. We love sharing our special first year of school life with you.

Come and read our new fabulous Autumn poems – they are up in the classroom. A huge thank you to Alexandra who brought in a gorgeous poetry book from home about the seasons.
Thanks Eloise for donating a copy of ‘Goodnight Stories for Rebel Girls’ to Room 5! That is so kind of you and your family! Can’t wait to read lots of different stories from it!
We do lots of different things for lots of different children. This group of ladies write on the laptop every Tuesday afternoon and publish a book together with Lisa. It is wonderful to see their use of language and story telling flourish. How fun writing together on the friendship chair too!
Service is encouraged at Kohia Terrace School so we often see intermediate sudents with different projects to help charities and organisations. This is the latest…
If you have any old towels at home you would like to donate to the SPCA, please bring them in. The winning class gets an extra 5 minutes play every day for a week!
We went out a smidge early today for lunch to get first pick of the tables – it is nice to get a turn at sitting at the picnic tables! Then Mrs Brown was on duty so we had lots of fun together out in the playground.
Nothing beats a lovely ‘proper’ latte drink at lunchtime – lucky me!
Always so many helpers when on duty! Lovely to see the children playing and having fun.
Today some of the intermediate children came and played games with our little people.
Look at these clever ladies doing some word work all by themselves during reading!
Oh my goodness Room 5 were reading super stars today and we are really taking off with our reading and learning our words. It is so wonderful when this happens, you can see it is all coming together and we have momentum and we can move up those levels! So exciting.
We looked at music tempo today and learned about music that goes fast and music that goes slow. We did some dancing listening to the speed of the music.
T for tempo. We also played instruments using different speeds.
Looking out the pretty character windows and seeing all our beautiful trees and greenery around us is so beautiful. We are so lucky to have such a pretty school.
