Space Projects

We have had such a busy day!  We have done some space art to go with the space writing we did earlier this week.  We have also done a planet project and sang lots of space songs.  We will be space experts in no time!

Getting Use To The Playground

It sometimes takes a little time to get use to the hustle and bustle of the playground at morning tea and lunch.  Our new boys are doing so so well.  Really proud of you!

Sharing Today

Vincent shared with us his Cat Bus toy.  Cat Bus was very soft and Vincent did a great job talking in front of the class.  Well done.  Mrs Brown shared her kindle.  Some children had not heard of a kindle before so it was nice to share how I read my books.  I love my kindle and I love reading so was hoping to inspire the children that reading is enjoyable and I read every night too!

Super Star Catherine

Catherine is so helpful.  She is always offering to do things to help out around the classroom.  Catherine has given herself the official role of being my Chinese interpreter.  When new friends come to our class, Catherine offers to translate whatever I am saying, (no matter where our new friends are from).  So gorgeous!

Tselmeg and Catherine With Alba

We have a strong ESOL programme at school – supporting children who are learning English as a second language.  Children have to be at school for 6 months before they officially qualify for the extra funded support.  However at a well resourced school like ours, we get lots of opportunities to support our little friends.  Catherine and Tselmeg got some booster sessions today with Alba.

Maths

Number work, number work, number work.  In year 1 knowing our numbers is a HUGE part of what we do.
