Carrots!
Guess what we will have for dinner tonight! I love these gorgeous baby carrots fresh from Vincent’s garden soooooooo much. They are so so cute! Thank you.
Personal Space
I think if you are a new entrant/year 1 teacher you must have no need for personal space…ever!
Free Writing Day Today
We had a treat today for writing. The children could write about anything they wanted. Most children wrote in their books but some children wrote on whiteboards. Well done Room 5.
Circle Time
Meet Brownie, he is our new circle time teddy bear friend. We have started circle time in Room 5. Brownie needs help solving problems and we are going to help him with strategies. This is a great way for children to learn different ways indirectly to help solve some of their own school concerns.
Cross Country Training
Lots of Sharing Today In Room 5
The World Of Five Year Olds
It is great learning what some of the children are interested in outside of school. Some of the children in Room 5 are into Pokemon. I have been learning all about Pikachu and Popplio.
Lunch Time Rules
There has been lots of chat about lunch time rules lately. We are getting strict now. These are our expectations…
Lunch Eating Expectations
- We eat our own lunch
- We all sit in the correct areas
- Koru in the junior section
- Everyone stays seated for 10 minutes (bell will ring)
- Food not eaten stays in lunch boxes to take home
- Rubbish is put in the bin
Time Lesson Turned Into Nocturnal Talk
After some mat chats about telling the time we did a follow up activity on things we see during the day and things we see during the night. This lead to a great lesson on nocturnal animals. Wow we are so clever in Room 5.
