Hold On To Your Hats – Going To Be A Fun Day

We have a saying in Room 5, ‘you have to go with the flow’ and today there will be a lot of that!  We have Ms Ali in and out of Room 5 doing catch up blocks of teacher release.  All teachers get an hourly amount allocated each term and sometimes, (because of lots of reasons), you get it given in a clump or two towards the end of term.   Yay for Ms Ali, and Mrs Brown is here too!!

We also have a few Room 3 children with us today as Mrs Tomich’s leadership reliever is sick.  We have some big buddy systems in place and ready to charge into the day.

While the skipping ‘Fitness Fanatic’ group are off skipping this morning with Ms Ali and the rest of the school, Mrs Brown has partnered up our new Room 3 friends and we are teaching maths games.

It is the final day of the PicknMix events!  Teachers may need teacher juice tonight or at least lots of coffee through out the day.  ‘Hold on to your hats’…we are charging into Thursday!

Jess – Room 5’s Magical Helper

Image result for thank youWow.  I don’t know if I can even imagine life before Jess in little Room 5.  I just wanted to acknowledge Jess who has made a massive difference in the classroom.  The extra pair of highly capable hands has been incredible.  Jess is one of life’s ‘behind the scenes’ type of people and very modest.  BUT I wanted to let you all know Jess does so much in Room 5 and is incredible with the children.  We are super lucky to have her and I just can’t imagine how we coped without her!  Thank you Jess for everything you do. We love you lots. x

Planting for Matariki – Jack and The Beanstalk

We planted beans today to celebrate Matariki. We are getting inspiration from the fairy tale, Jack and The Beanstalk. We have been goggling facts about  growing beans and we are hopeful they will start sprouting in tenish days.  Guess what will be coming home in the holidays for you to continue your gardening skills?

Tuesday Adventures

Skip counting in 5s was mastered today in little Room 5.  We are starting to get the hang of going forwards and backwards in 2s, 5s and 10s.

Miss K did something different in Room 5 for reading.  She read to the class ‘The Three Little Pigs’ and then the children did a sequencing activity.  Great to do new things!

Little Room 5 also continued their learning on Matariki.  The children got underway on our planting project which we will finish tomorrow.  We are going to plant and grow beans and see if we can make a bean stork just like the story, ‘Jack and the beanstalk’.

Mrs Brown has missed all the little faces.  See you tomorrow Room 5.  I have loved hearing about your adventures from Jess and Miss K.
