These lucky children got prizes at assembly for our PicknMix competition. Your name went into the competition for every $20 raised, for example  if you donated $80 your child went in the draw 4 times.  There were also some prizes for those children who got 100%.  Vanessa got a prize and so we collected it for her and will keep it safe.  The school exceeded its target of raising $15,000.  We raised nearly $18,000.  At a high decile school like ours we need fundraisers to continue to run the school and fund many of our resources as we get a lot less government funding. Not everyone got a prize today but we are all being kind and thoughtful and being good sports about it.  Alexandra was acknowledged for raising the most money for Room 5 – great job Alexandra.  Thank you everyone for supporting the school and Room 5!!

We are so lucky at our school as we have a specialist science teacher, Ms Bowden.

June did such a great job with her reading she got two stickers!!

We have music on Thursdays this term with Miss K.

So much excitement in the junior area today!  Lots of diggers and trucks!

We talked about what jobs we could do when we grow up as I suggested to Sebastian that he could be a marine biologist because he knows so much about under water creatures.  Olivia wants to be a marine biologist too!  Eloise asked Mrs Brown, “What do you want to do when you grow up?”….so sweet.

The children have science tomorrow after lunch with our science teacher Ms Bowden – exciting.

Sometimes maths can be confusing…

We talked about ‘family of facts’ in some groups.  Number relationships.  The children are actually really good at knowing their addition and subtraction facts.  We need to focus more on writing the sums up correctly by ourselves.

Word bingo and other literacy games are great to play to help our little people learn more words.  AND it is fun which is really important.
