Well done to Scarlett who did some beautiful sharing about some cultural art pieces she had at home. She spoke clearly and made gorgeous eye contact. Well done. We will start a formal sharing programme soon. Each child will have a day they can bring something along for sharing. Later in the year we will start doing topic sharing which will have more structure. At this stage are aims are standing at the front so everyone can see us, making eye contact with everyone and talking clearly.
Thank you
We raised $370 for Tonga! That money will go the Tongan School which suffered huge loses after the cyclone. Two intermediate children, Kate and Olivia, organised the fundraiser by themselves after visiting the school last year on a leadership trip. After the cyclone they wanted to help the many friends they made over there. Thank you for supporting.

Love Monsters
Do you like our Love Monsters as much as we do? We wrote about being kind to the Love Monster today. Vanessa was very kind as she wrote for Avery, who broke her right arm, the arm she writes with – Vanessa did this without even being asked! Julian and Isabella were so kind tidying up really, really well for Mrs Brown. Finn and Stella were giving out stickers to children doing a great job.
Welcome To School And Room 5 Phoebe!!
Happy birthday to our new little Room 5 friend Phoebe. She started in Room 5 today. Welcome Phoebe!!!!
Jump Jam Was Outside Today
We danced to our Jump Jam songs for fitness today outside with the rest of the Koru team.
Lock Down Practise
Every term we need to practise a different emergency drill and today we practised the lock down drill. We have a team of experts who come in and make sure we are doing it correctly. All parents should have got a test text or email sent to them today about it. We have to lock the doors and windows and lie very quietly on the floor and wait for Alison or Mr Heap or a policeperson to say we can get up. We then had an evacuation drill and met on the bottom courts. All this happened during our reading session! Busy middle block!
Welcome Back Avery!
We were so happy to see Avery back with us! We gave her the special love card we made her. Our names are on her cast also.
RAK Week – Random Acts of Kindness
What a fun week we are going to have. Do you like my love ring? This is a good example of being kind – Stella let me wear the other half of her love ring last week. Do you have any cool books at home about friendship and being kind? If so please bring them in for us to read as a class. There is a cool book called The Love Monster and for Tuesday’s writing session we are going to make some Love Monsters and write sentences about being kind on them. AND speaking of being kind don’t forget to bring in any toy or book donations for the Tonga fundraiser. The Jumble Sale is on Tuesday.
