Our Room 5 Adventures

It is Miss Lee’s last day tomorrow so we are making her a secret card with photos and messages. Ssshhhhhh it is our secret project.

Nadia is looking very cool and stylish today!

The children are learning so much about the library with Alison.  They know what non-fiction and fiction means and learning lots of library rules.

We do word work during reading.  Today we found a word that has 3 chunks or 3 blends in it and when you put them all together we can work out the word.  Aren’t we clever!!!!  The more phonics we do the more words we learn!

Alexandra wrote a wow word today! Well done!  Alexandra wrote about the terrific playdate she had in the weekend.  The word ‘terrific’ is a great wow word Alexandra.

The Room 5 Super Star chairs use to be Georgia and Olivia’s Princess chairs many years ago.  They use to sit in them for snacks, meals, crafts, playdough fun but out grew them.  Soooooooo they are now Super Star classroom chairs.  Thought the children might enjoy this blast from the past.  They are certainly very loved chairs still!  Lots of little people get to enjoy them now which is perfect!

We had time for a quick game of Duck Duck Goose before lunch!!!!

 

Lucky Room 5 won the school kete last week at assembly – which is a beautiful collection of Te Reo activities, stickers, treats and lessons for us to do over the fortnight we have the kete in our class.  Today we used the special stickers and made some Koru art – learning about what Koru’s mean in Maori.  Come and have a look next time you are in Room 5.

Thank you William for bringing in Chinese New Year crackers for everyone in Room 5.  William is going to give them out at home time.
