In the intermediate the children are currently doing big science projects and they need to present their experiments on big science boards. Guess what has taken over our house? Guess what is due Monday? Science fever has hit our family. Olivia has been working on her apple experiment for weeks. It is a quite a big deal and takes a lot of planning. You have lots to look forward to. We will hopefully get a chance next week to go and have a look at all the boards displayed up in the intermediate – it is always lovely for our little people to see what the older children are doing.
PicknMix Has Finished – What To Do Now…
We have finished the five PicknMix events now. Tomorrow a form like in the picture will come home with your child to show how they did. We don’t really need this form in year 1 as all your children were amazing and earned maximum credits in all the events they entered. So if this little piece of paper gets lost in your child’s bag tomorrow please don’t worry, because the real form we need back is the yellow one.
You can bring in your money next week into Room 5 with your yellow form, (or you do have until Tuesday 24 July). I find it easier to do internet transfer so I do that and note it on the form. Cash is fine also. Let me know if you have any questions.
Matariki Writing
Look at our beautiful Matariki fact poster! We have loved learning about the Maori New Year and planting our beanstalks.
Looking After Fellow Teachers
Yay for Thursday when our coffee van is open across the road at lunchtime! It is a day for multi teacher orders and surprise deliveries. Coffee is the best RAK! RAK= Random Acts of Kindness
Sebastian And Gabriel Planted Their Beanstalks
Welcome back boys. We are so pleased you are feeling better and back at school today. Jess found some time to catch you up and get your beans planted. They look great.
Madam Secretary Brown
Just when I start to feel a teeny tiny bit stressed I think of the Lightbox series I am watching at the moment Madam Secretary and just feel relieved I am not juggling the politics of the world. The politics of Room 5 is enough for Mrs Brown.
Alexandra’s Random Act of Kindness
Thanks Alexandra! Alexandra came in at morning tea time and helped me set up for reading! Thank you. RAK week is awesome. Our day is such a lovely one when we all do nice things for each other.
Skip-athon Fitness Fanatics Option for PicknMix
We Are Trying To Do Nice Things This Week – RAK Week
Finn and I went up to make Ms Ali a cup of coffee as she was going straight out to morning tea duty after a busy morning. The next two weeks are RAK week – Random Acts of Kindness week. A nice way to finish a busy term 2. We are doing little kindness projects.
There Is SOOOOOOO Much ‘Going With The Flow’ Today
The PicknMix has been quite a big thing for year 1. How about some of those quiz questions – sooooo tricky. The Word Whiz quiz today was really hard but we have soldiered through with some ‘going with the flowing’ and some blatant answer calling out wink wink.
