We all have our own reading pathways goal books now that we will use every reading session. Even Brownie bear has one.
Kohia Terrace School. Year 1. The life of 5 year olds. We want to invite parents and family into our classroom. Come and watch our adventures and learn about what we are learning. So when the children come home and you ask, "What did you do today?", the children will never be able to say, "nothing" ever again…our days are busy and learning constant. We love sharing our special first year of school life with you.

We have started using Seesaw in Room 5 as the rest of the school is now using it for digital sharing of children’s work. I will send out more details on how you can view it at the end of the week. Your child can take photos of their work and send to you directly – you will only be able to view your child’s learning. You can comment on it if you wish. It has been trialled successfully in other classes. We are going to give ourselves the week to practise using it some more. There is a free app also you can download for your phone, this is great and I use this to view Olivia’s intermediate work. Watch this space…more details will come.
Wow looks like Paddington Bear had a wonderful holiday with Alexandra! Welcome back.
AWWWWWW we love babies. A huge congratulations to Julian and his lovely family on the safe arrival of a little baby girl. We can’t wait to see a photo. Mrs Brown LOVES babies especially. There have been lots of great name suggestions by the way – Finn suggested Nelson Russell (his middle and last name), Owlette was another great suggestion that made us smile. Congratulations from all of us here in Room 5.
AND it is so nice to hear all the banter of the children again – they are so gorgeous. There was a fabulous conversation this morning between Sebastian and Julian about how they are so similar….”We both have 3 in our family (siblings they mean), we both wear glasses, our parents are doctors and we both love the same games, we are just the same”. The children’s conversations always make me smile!
Wow I am so impressed with everyone’s beanstalks!
Eloise and family took their beanstalk on their family trip to Napier – that must have been the secret to making it grow so tall!! Wow.
Tristan went to Parry Kauri Park in Warkworth today. Tristan had a great time with his cousins and family.
Phoebe had a great time skiing and also managed lots of bike adventures with ice cream. Looks fun Phoebe!
Phoebe with big brother Louis. I am sure older sister Chloe had fun too. Little baby Freddie would have loved having all his siblings home to play I bet!
Wow look at your bean stalk Gabriel! You have done a great job looking after that! Pleased to hear you had a lovely holiday climbing, swimming and playing with your friends and cousin.
Well done Eloise!!! Great to see you doing some word work over the holidays! You are a learning super star for sure.
