Our Room 5 Adventures

Beautiful Shanaya is settling into Room 5 now.  We are so happy to have you join our classroom.

So there I was last night, reading through the chef Nadia’s Winter Wellness cooking magazine and who do I discover, our very own Eriko!  Eriko is looking gorgeous with her little sister.  How cool Eriko!

Eriko’s aunty is the Creative Director of Nadia magazine.  Clever family.

Mrs Brown was on lunch duty today which was actually so gorgeous as I got to experience the ‘leaf party’ again.  It is a popular game our Room 5 little people have been playing lately.  Totally their invention and it is totally devine.  The yellow leaves are so beautiful and the different children that play the game have the most happy time.

We all practised skip counting in 2s today.  Some of us went to 20 and others went higher.  Skip counting is the first step in learning multiplication.

I really believe one of the best things we can give children is time. It is great now that we have Jess in Room 5 we can slow the pace down and spend extra time on our learning.  It was lovely to see her playing a word game with a couple of our boys.  So much nicer than rushing all the time.  Spending time reinforcing our learning is so important. Yay for Jess!

Thank you Stella (and Sarah) for the most delicious energy snack a teacher could ever ask for!  I am going to make these at home!!!!  So tasty.

Salted Nut Butter Protein Bites

There are a few children away today in Room 5 – lots of bugs going around and I know everyone is exhausted.  This is a tough time of the term – we had a pyjama day on Sunday as we were really tired too. Hang in there everyone.  Olivia cooked us all breakfest yesterday as she is our little masterchef.  A couple of years ago she got through to the semi-finals for New Zealand Masterchef. We are really lucky in our family to have a clever little cook!

 

Paddington Bear had a great weekend with Sebastian.  Loved all the photos.  The children thought my cardigan looks like the red one Paddington wears sometimes.

I love this photo of Sebastian’s beautiful older sisters Claudia and Eloise helping to fill out the Paddington Bear book.  I still have the weekend book with Eloise in it, when she was in year 1 with Mrs Brown.

Yay it was sunny!  Sport has been moved to Fridays now and we got to practise our soccer skills with Rooms 4 and 3.

We had a  treasure hunt to find vowels in magazines.
